Eagle Golfers Battle Back For Second Place Finish

The Meridian Community College Golf team found themselves in an unfamiliar position after round one Saturday. The Eagles were in fifth place after day one of the MACJC #5 tournament. The Eagles stormed back on day two and shot a 4 over par 292 to finish in second place in the tournament. The Eagles 292 was the best round of any team Sunday. For the tournament, the Eagles finished at 26 over par 602. The Eagles were led by Will Kidder and Mitchell Fifer who were both named to the All-Tournament team.


Will Kidder finished second overall in the tournament shooting Even (73,71) for the tournament. Mitchell Fifer finished right behind Kidder coming in third overall. He shot 1 over par (72,73) for the tournament. Dalton Baskin finished tied for 17th. He shot 11 over par (80,75). Presley Wade finished tied for 27th after shooting 14 over par (85,73). Rounding things out for the Eagles was Logan Meadows who finished tied for 30th shooting 19 over par (85,78).


Parker Brooks and Kade Pitts both competed as individuals in the tournament. Brooks finished tied for 25th shooting 13 over par (79,78). Pitts finished 29th shooting 17 over par (82,79).


The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, April 13 in Raymond, Mississippi.
