The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles extended their winning streak to four games with a pair of wins Wednesday. The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The Lady Eagles won game one 2-1 and game two 4-2.
The Lady Eagles picked up the win in game one behind the dominant pitching of Kaitlyn Parrish. Parrish threw a complete game three-hitter. She went all seven innings and picked up a pair of strikeouts in the Lady Eagles victory.
Alyssa Branyan provided all the offense the Lady Eagles needed. She drove in Taylor Perilloux and Keirra Fair on a single in the fourth to give the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead. This lead would hold until the seventh when the Lady Wolves scored one but couldn't get any more across.
The Lady Eagles took advantage of another great pitching performance in game two to pick up the win. Kaitlyn Parrish went the entire way for the Lady Eagles picking up the win. She pitched seven innings allowing only two runs and scattering six hits.
Kelsey Patterson provided the spark for the Lady Eagles offensively. She hit two homers and had three RBI's. Alyssa Branyan provided another homer for the Lady Eagles.
With the sweep, the Lady Eagles improve to 16-12 overall and 9-7 in MACJC play. The Lady Eagles will be back in action Monday, April 15 at Tommy McDonald Field. First pitch against Southwest Community College is scheduled for 3:00.
