Selma, AL - Both the Eagles and Lady Eagles took to the road for the first time this season as they traveled to Wallace-Selma Community College. Unfortunately, both teams lost by 2 points each. The Lady Eagles dropped their game 55-53, and the Eagles went to overtime with the Patriots but fell short 75-73.
The Lady Eagles came out of the gate strong and took a 23-18 lead into halftime lead by Mia Moore, who had 24 points and 8 rebounds. The second half didn't go the Lady Eagles way as the Lady Patriots would fight back to take the 2 point win. Yolanda Nelson chipped in 11 points for the Lady Eagles in the loss.
The Eagles and Patriots contest was so close it took an extra period to determine the winner. The Patriots pulled out the win in overtime 75-73. The Eagles were led by Justin Brown, who had 26 points and Alvarez Powell, who had 18.
The Lady Eagles fall to 0-2 on the season and the Eagles drop to 1-2. Both teams will start a week-long homestand Monday, November 11, as they host Bishop State Community College. Following that, the Eagles host Royal Ambassadors on Wednesday and William Carey JV on Friday. The Lady Eagles will host Lawson State Community College Thursday, November 14.
