The Eagles come from four strokes back to win the MACCC Event # 2 at Riverbirch Golf Club, in Amory, MS.
AMORY, MS -- The Eagles come from four strokes back to win the MACCC Event # 2 at Riverbirch Golf Club, in Amory, MS.
After day one at Riverbirch Golf Club, the Eagles knew they had their work cut out for them if they were going to win back-to-back MACCC Events. The Eagles were tied with Itawamba for 4th place with a score of 295. The host school, Northeast CC, sat atop the leaderboard with a 291.
Bounce back is just what the Eagles did as they shot a 291 on day 2 to turn the four-stroke deficit into a four-stroke victory over second-place Copiah Lincoln CC.
The Eagles were led by Joesph Berry's 144 and Diego Leslie's 147, which were good enough to land them on the All-tournament team. Noah Bumgarner shot 148, Ethan Dyess shot 149, and Brett Baker shot 152.
Next up, The Eagles head to Joplin, MO, to play in the National Preview at Twin Hills Country Club, October 18-19.
