Meridian Community College Baseball Team Shines with Four Players Earning All-MACCC Honors
Meridian - Meridian Community College (MCC) is proud to announce that four outstanding members of the MCC Eagles baseball team have been honored with All-Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) accolades for their exceptional performances during the 2024 season.
Landon Waters, a dominant pitcher, was selected for the All-MACCC first team. Waters led all of NJCAA Division II baseball with an impressive 115 strikeouts. His season record of 8-1, accompanied by 1 save and a remarkable 2.12 ERA, underscores his pivotal role in the Eagles' success this season.
Joining Waters on the first team is Blaise Priester, a sophomore catcher whose offensive prowess has been a significant asset. Priester boasts a .377 batting average, 14 home runs, and 65 RBIs, showcasing his consistent ability to drive in runs and power the team's offense.
On the All-MACCC second team, Rhett Ketchum, an outfielder, has been recognized for his exceptional batting skills. Ketchum achieved a stellar .405 batting average, hitting 7 home runs and driving in 55 RBIs, making him a key player in the Eagles' lineup.
Additionally, the Eagles' designated hitter, Landon Houston, earned a spot on the second team. Houston's contributions include a .352 batting average, 9 home runs, and 35 RBIs, further highlighting the depth of talent on the MCC baseball roster.
