Heggie Named First Team Scholar All-American
MERIDIAN, Miss. – Meridian Community College swimmer Megan Heggie has been named a First Team Scholar All-American by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 2024-25 season.
The CSCAA named over 2,700 swimmers and divers nationwide to its Scholar All-America Team. To qualify for First Team honors, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and competed in their national championship meet. Second Team selections also maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above and must have achieved a "B" time standard for nationals or qualified for a diving zone meet.
Heggie, who excelled both in the classroom and in the pool, was among the nation's top honorees. Nearly half of all athletes recognized were STEM majors, while Business Administration was the most popular major overall.
After graduating from Meridian Community College this past May, Heggie continues to make her mark beyond MCC. Her hard work and achievements have brought honor to the college, and she carries that same determination into the next chapter of her academic and athletic career.
