Bio

Jackson Rodriguez joins the Meridian Community College baseball coaching staff as pitching coach after helping guide one of the nation's top pitching staffs during the 2025 season at Southeastern Louisiana University.

As a graduate manager with the Lions, Rodriguez played a key role in a historic season that saw Southeastern capture the Southland Conference regular-season championship. The Lions' pitching staff led the conference with the league's only earned run average below 4.00, establishing itself as one of the premier staffs in the region.

Rodriguez was part of a coaching staff that developed one of the most decorated groups of players in the Southland Conference. Seven Lions earned All-Conference recognition, highlighted by Brennan Stuprich being named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year and Student-Athlete of the Year while also earning All-America, All-Region and All-Louisiana honors. Freshman closer Brady St. Pierre was selected as the conference's Relief Pitcher of the Year and Freshman All-American.

Four players earned First Team All-Southland honors, while three more were named to the Second Team. Southeastern also placed two student-athletes on the All-Defensive Team and had four players recognized on the All-Louisiana Team.

Rodriguez also helped mentor two pitchers who continued their careers at the professional level following the season. Conner O'Neal was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the ninth round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, while Stuprich was chosen by the New York Yankees in the 14th round.

Before transitioning into coaching, Rodriguez enjoyed a successful collegiate career as a left-handed pitcher at Southeastern. He appeared in 43 career games, compiling a 5-2 record with eight saves and a 3.93 ERA across 73.1 innings pitched. He struck out 56 batters while issuing just 22 walks, and his eight career saves rank 11th in program history.

A native of Kingwood, Texas, Rodriguez earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall of 2024.
