Three MCC Golfers Earn All-Conference Honors as Eagles Prepare for Gulf District Championship
MERIDIAN, Miss. — With a top-10 national ranking and a runner-up finish at the MACCC Championship, the Meridian Community College golf team continues to make headlines — and this time, it's individual Eagles taking center stage.
Sophomore Bruce McClung of Tishomingo and freshman Jace Duckworth from Tuscaloosa, AL have both been named First Team All-Conference, while freshman Dax Reaux from Breaux Bridge, LA earned a spot on the Second Team All-Conference, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced this week.
"This is a tremendous honor for these student-athletes and a testament to their hard work and consistency throughout the season," said MCC head golf coach Lance Strickland. "Each of them has played a key role in our success, and it's exciting to see them recognized at this level."
McClung, a steady leader on the course, has anchored the team in several events this year with strong finishes and clutch performances. Duckworth, making an immediate impact in his freshman campaign, quickly established himself as one of the most promising young golfers in the region. Reaux has shown impressive growth over the season, contributing critical rounds and proving he's a rising talent to watch.
The Eagles, currently ranked No. 7 in the nation by the NJCAA, recently finished as the runner-up in the MACCC Championship and have advanced to the Gulf District Championship, set for April 21-22 in Tunica, Mississippi.
As MCC sets its sights on a national tournament berth, these individual honors underscore the depth and determination of a team that continues to soar.
