Bio

Gavin Taylor is in his first season as assistant coach for the Meridian Community College men’s soccer program.

Before joining MCC, Taylor spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Pearl River Community College, where he helped guide the team to a Region 23 Championship, Gulf South District title, and an NJCAA National Tournament appearance. He is also co-owner and coach at Next Level Training LLC, a private soccer training company working with players of all levels, from beginners to professionals.

Taylor played one season professionally with the Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League (M.A.S.L.). His collegiate playing career includes time at Dalton State College (2022–2024), where he was part of the 2022 SSAC league championship team, Pearl River Community College (2021–2022), where he was a Scholar All-American, All-Region selection, and set the school’s shutout record, and William Carey University (2019–2021), where he earned SSAC Freshman of the Year honors and contributed to a conference championship.

A native of Gulfport, Mississippi, Taylor was a standout at Gulfport High School, winning back-to-back state championships in 2018 and 2019. He was named the 2018 Clarion Ledger Player of the Year and earned Sun Herald Player of the Year honors in both 2018 and 2019.
