Bio
Entering his first season as head coach of the Meridian Community College men's and women's tennis programs, Torean King brings a strong background in collegiate tennis, player development, and coaching to the Eagles.
King began his collegiate playing career at Itawamba Community College, where he competed for two seasons. During his time with the Indians, the program earned a national ranking of No. 21 before the COVID-19 pandemic shortened competition. He later transferred to Coastal Alabama Community College, where he played two additional seasons and helped the Coyotes finish No. 16 in the national rankings in 2023.
Following his playing career, King moved into coaching and player development. He spent three years as a tennis trainer at Magnolia Tennis Club, working extensively with junior players and helping oversee the club's development program. King also served as a tennis trainer at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida, during the summer of 2022.
King has gained experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He served as an assistant coach at Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, helping guide the program to the 2025 MHSAA Class 1A State Championship. Most recently, he worked as an assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis programs at Mississippi University for Women during the 2025-26 season.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, King serves as the Junior Team Coordinator for the Golden Triangle area, where he organizes leagues, recruits volunteer coaches, coordinates tournaments, and works to expand opportunities for young tennis players throughout the region.
King is committed to helping student-athletes develop both on and off the court while fostering a competitive and positive culture within the Meridian Community College tennis program.
