Smith Claims Fourth MACCC Player of the Week Honor as Lady Eagles Roll in Conference Play
MERIDIAN, Miss. – Meridian Community College sophomore forward Terica Smith has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced Tuesday.
Smith continued her dominant 2025–26 campaign in the paint, posting two double-doubles to lead the Lady Eagles to a perfect 2-0 week in conference play. The West Point, Miss., native totaled 45 points, 26 rebounds, and four steals against Mississippi Delta and East Mississippi, averaging 22.5 points and 13 rebounds per game.
In MCC's first win of the week, Smith powered the Lady Eagles past the Lady Trojans of Mississippi Delta at home inside the Graham Gymnasium, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that performance with a commanding outing on the road at East Mississippi, recording a game-high 24 points and 16 rebounds in the win over the Lady Lions.
"This is becoming the standard for Terica," said MCC head coach Jocelyn McGilberry. "She's continued to give us the spark we need, especially during an injury-plagued season. Her consistency and leadership have been huge for us, and it's great to see her recognized again."
Despite battling injuries throughout the lineup, the Lady Eagles have maintained a strong season, improving to 15-3 overall and 3-1 in MACCC play. MCC will look to keep the momentum rolling when the Lady Eagles travel to Fulton, Miss., for a conference matchup at Itawamba on Thursday. Tip-off against the Lady Indians is set for 5:30 p.m.
