Smith, Willis Earn All-MACCC Honors Following Standout Season for Lady Eagles

MERIDIAN, Miss. — Meridian Community College women's basketball standouts Terica Smith and Nataysia Willis have been recognized for their outstanding 2025-26 campaigns, earning All-MACCC honors following a historic season for the Lady Eagles.

Smith, a sophomore from West Point, Miss., was named a First Team All-MACCC selection after a dominant season in the paint. A four-time MACCC Player of the Week, Smith also received two first-place votes for MACCC Player of the Year.

She led Meridian to a Region 23 Quarterfinal appearance while averaging 17.2 points per game, totaling 516 points on the season. Smith's career-best performance came in a 30-point outing against Lawson State. Over her two-year career at MCC, she scored 811 total points, earning her a place in the program's 500-point club.

Willis, a sophomore from Standing Pine, Miss., earned Honorable Mention All-MACCC honors after another impressive season for the Lady Eagles. Willis averaged 14.1 points per game and totaled 422 points this season, finishing her MCC career with 642 points, also securing her place in the 500-point club.

A dynamic playmaker, Willis showcased her versatility throughout the season — contributing with scoring, sharp passing, and perimeter shooting, where she shot 35.7% from three-point range for her career. Her season-high performance came with a 27-point outing against Bishop State.

Head Coach Jocelyn McGilberry praised both players for their impact on the program.

"It's a testament to what these two meant to Meridian and the kind of season we had," McGilberry said. "They've been leaders for us all year and truly earned this recognition."

The Lady Eagles capped off an impressive season with a 24-6 overall record and an 11-3 mark in MACCC play, with Smith and Willis playing pivotal roles in the team's success.

Meridian Community College is proud to have had both student-athletes represent the green and white and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.
